On August 17, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow show highlighted this week's National Nuclear Security Administration announcement regarding the successful return of 13.8 pounds of highly-enriched uranium to the United States and the risk that Congressional budget cuts to the NNSA's Global Threat Reduction Initiative may jeopardize similar efforts to secure fissile material from terrorists in the future.
