Reprint/Copyright Request Rates


The Arms Control Association encourages use of Arms Control Today content for educational non-commercial purposes consistent with Fair Use restrictions and welcomes requests for reprints in textbooks and periodicals according to the following provisions.

(Apart from content offered through the journal, material offered through our Fact Sheets, Issue Briefs, Policy Papers, and Reports may be reproduced with permission of the Arms Control Association and a link back to the original source under the same Fair Use restrictions.) 

Classroom use
The Arms Control Association encourages educators to direct students to original content directly through links to our website. For course packets and other printed collections of Arms Control Today content, please include the following language in an appropriate cover page.

The following material is made available by the Arms Control Association to students enrolled in

_________________________­­­­­­­­­__ (course title/number) under 17 U.S. Code §107 "for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use),  scholarship, or research." The Arms Control Association, founded in 1971, is a national nonpartisan membership organization dedicated to promoting public understanding of and support for effective arms control policies. The Arms Control Association welcomes educators and students to download fact sheets, issue briefs, Arms Control Today content, and additional materials from its website at https://www.ArmsControl.org. Full access to Arms Control Today content is available to members of the Arms Control Association.

To help us improve access to such content in the future, we encourage and welcome copies of syllabi and course packets to be shared with our national office with any notes or recommendations for improvement. 

Textbook and Periodical Reprint Rates
Please submit textbook/periodical usage requests to [email protected], with the subject line "Textbook or Periodical Permission Request." Textbook and periodical usage of Arms Control Today articles, including graphics (tables, charts, information graphics, etc.), carries of one-time usage fee of $300 per edition.

Translations
Requests for permission to translate and republish Arms Control Today articles for noncommercial purposes are considered on a case-by-case basis. Please email [email protected] with your request.

Online Reprints
On a discretionary basis, the Arms Control Association will permit online reprints of full-text articles appearing in Arms Control Today. For permission and fee information, please email [email protected] with your request. All reprint requests are subject to the approval of the editor and publisher, and must be attributed to the Arms Control Association and linked to the original content at https://www.armscontrol.org.

Alternatively, we encourage sites to link directly to Arms Control Today content at https://www.armscontrol.org with a short (~250-word) synopsis or excerpt.

Payment
International checks, money orders, and all traveler's checks must be payable in U.S. currency only and drawn on a U.S. bank. All listed reprint fees are U.S. currency. Those receiving permission to reprint material from Arms Control Today will be issued an invoice and must remit payment to the Arms Control Association within 30 days of receipt of invoice.
