Position Opening: Operations and Program Assistant

The nonpartisan, nonprofit Arms Control Association is seeking an energetic, personable, organized, full-time operations and program assistant to support the work and mission of our organization, which is based in Washington, D.C.

The Operations and Program Assistant will assist the senior executive team and development and communications staff with

  • The management of our member and contacts database.
  • Member and donor relations and outreach.
  • Scheduling and organizing board and membership meetings.
  • Organizing policy-focused workshops & webinars.
  • Occasional strategy & outreach meetings on priority issues.
  • Plus other responsibilities as assigned.

Position requirements: Candidates should have

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Advanced computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office 365 and Google Workspace.
  • Familiarity with CRM database tools (such as EveryAction).
  • Prior experience in an administrative or assistant role.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Candidates must support the goals and the mission of the Arms Control Association.

Salary: Between $50,000 to $55,000 base salary depending on experience.

Benefits: Employer-provided health care coverage, paid vacation, family and sick leave; and (after one year) contribution to an individual retirement account.
