Julia Masterson is a Research Assistant at the Arms Control Association, where she contributes research and analysis, reports for Arms Control Today, and creates and updates Arms Control Association online resources.

She previously held a research internship with the National Security Archive, where she created chronologies of integral dates pertaining to Iran’s nuclear program as well as the diplomatic proceedings culminating in the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and secured Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) release of documents pertaining to Iran’s nuclear development.

She later held research and administrative roles at the National Defense University Center for the Study of Weapons of Mass Destruction where she focused on strategic stability by way of bilateral and multilateral treaties, compliance with the Chemical Weapons Convention, and the U.S.-Russian confidence building measure agreements,.

Julia has a Master’s degree in Non-Proliferation and International Security from King’s College London.
