Faculty Position in Nonproliferation Studies

The Graduate School of International Policy Studies at the Monterey Institute of International Studies

The Graduate School of International Policy Studies at the Monterey Institute of International Studies invites applications for a new faculty position in Nonproliferation Studies.  The position is available at all ranks, but applicants should have teaching experience and a record of scholarly publication in the area of weapons of mass destruction and means for their control.  Priority will be given to individuals with a PhD or equivalent work experience and in-country research in one or more geographic regions outside of the United States. Multi-lingual skills are an asset and the successful candidate will have opportunities to teach in a language other than English. Salary is commensurate with academic qualifications and experience.  In addition to a faculty appointment, the opportunity exists for an affiliation with the Monterey Institute's James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies.

Senior Research Associate

James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, Monterey Institute of International Studies

CNS is the largest non-governmental organization in the United States focusing exclusively on problems related to the spread of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), with offices in Monterey, CA, Washington, DC, and Almaty, Kazakhstan.

This position will entail research, analysis, writing, and lecturing on nuclear nonproliferation and related security issues involving both state and non-state actors. In addition to an appointment at the Monterey Institute's James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, there may be opportunities to teach at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. Ph.D. preferred. Priority deadline: February 1, 2008.

Postdoctoral Fellow

James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, Monterey Institute of International Studies

CNS is the largest non-governmental organization in the United States focusing exclusively on problems related to the spread of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), with offices in Monterey, CA, Washington, DC, and Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The fellow will be expected to: (1) publish a significant work in the field of nuclear, biological, or chemical weapons proliferation/terrorism or related field; (2) contribute to ongoing research and programmatic activities at CNS; and (3) lecture in his/her area of specialty. Expertise in the Middle East and/or East Asia is desirable. Priority deadline: March 1, 2008.
